One of my ideas is to make a corset. I've been playing around with the design of the corset. I might try to use ribbon or lace as extra materials, but, I would also want to see what it might look like if I made what looks like lace and ribbon from wire.
My other idea was to make a wire sleeve that resembled a tattoo sleeve. It would be a cohesive design that wrapped around my arm. I think I could get really creative with this one, but, it might be a lot harder to do. Somehow adding color might be nice. Maybe with some string or a colored medium. Not sure yet.
I like the idea of combining materials in the project. Could show a good project between something like...grace and darkness? I also plan on incorporating color into my project, I would highly recommend doing the same. String or some kind of synthetic fiber would go very well with an organic feel, if that is what you are going for.
ReplyDeleteA corset would work really well with wire, probably the only kind of garment you could make and still have it contain it's real form. If you were to use ribbon or lace to tie up the back of it, that would make it easily removable and also give it a little contrast from all that wire.
ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure I'm going to use one or both lace and ribbon. I didn't think about the contrast in texture though.
ReplyDeleteI think the tattoo sleeve would be really neat, but as you said might become really difficult, especially if you want it to be detailed. The corset is almost a perfect idea to create with wire. It incorporates the idea of being bound really well. You could also do a a lot with simple patterning and lines to give a cool effect to your corset.
ReplyDeletePersonally I like the idea of the tattoo sleeve. The detail would be of some concern, but if you were to model the tattoos off of the old school sailor style, i.e. Sailor Jerry, Ed Hardy, etc... it might be easily pulled off
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of both the corset and the sleeve. I think the sleeve might be easier to do than the corset. and as for the paint just find metal ahdering paint
ReplyDeleteI think a tattoo sleeve made out of wire, would blow everyones mind. This was something that crossed my mine. Tattoos and its connection with the human body. If it were removed from the body it would be out of place, and would therefor have no purpose. I don't see how it would be too difficult, I've seen sleeve tattoos with dynamic and swirly movements before and it could easily be pulled off with wire. You could maybe even do something with barbed wire, (the whole wrist tattoo thing). Either way both ideas are great... good luck!
